NOTES: When I moved to Melbourne in 2010, I was stunned at the price of books in Australia. In London and New York, I would often use Amazon to buy and sell my used books.

I searched around for an equivalent Australian site, but could not find any. I learned that many Australians order their books from US and UK. I also learned that Australia produced more carbon dioxide per capita than the United States(!) I did not want to contribute to that statistic.

That was the genesis for Bookmonkey – an Australia-only site for buying, selling and exchanging used books

Bookmonkey is completely free to use. It has a searchable database, so you can find things easier. You can also list things easier (ie you don’t have to enter all of the details of each book. To sell a title, just search and select)
